Ecobeton Evercrete
|
EverCrete® is a water based (sodium silicate) product with a unique catalyst, allowing it to penetrate concrete.
A large number of small pores and cavities are found on cemented and concrete surfaces. When you treat the surfaces with Evercrete®, it penetrates the concrete by 10-30 mm.
The product reacts with the concrete in the processed layer, forming a thin layer of glass on the pore walls. It also seals between pores. The treated layer, moreover, is open to
diffusion, but remains water-tight.
EverCrete® is inorganic and based on natural minerals. Affecting neither health nor the environment, it can be stored for unlimited periods while being odourless, easy to handle and use. And what's
more, the product facilitates easy, risk-free recycling.

Technical information
|
The reaction of EverCrete® in concrete (especially Calcium hydroxide CaOH2), occurs in two stages. To begin with, an air-silicate gel is formed, which then turns into a glass-like compound. During
the reaction between the EverCrete® silicate and the Calcium hydroxide in the cement, the hydroxide group is vaporized. In short, the chemical reaction ensures that the impregnated layer is dried.
Concrete treated with EverCrete® assumes the following key characteristics:
- The RH in concrete top layer becomes less than 85%
- Concrete surface alkalinity drops to less than pH 11
- Increases concrete surface hardness
- Increases concrete surface durability
- Decreases the formation of dust on concrete
- Improves adhesiveness for other surface finishing
- Improves concrete properties against chemical effects
An EverCrete® treatment is permanent and does not need to be repeated. Its life is the same as that of the concrete surface it is applied to.

Instructions for the application of EverCrete®
|
All concrete surfaces to be treated with EverCrete® must be thoroughly cleaned. Paint, glue, oil etc. have to be removed, either by grinding or blasting.
5-50 °C is the ideal temperature for EverCrete® treatment. Just apply the product using low-pressure sprayer, soft brush or rubber rake.
Depending on concrete surface absorption, 0,2-0,3 liters/m2 should be applied. Do not allow EverCrete® to remain in pools on the surface. These should be spread out with rake or brush.
It is not wise to treat a concrete surface with EverCrete®, if it is raining directly on the surface. It is perfectly all right for the surface to be damp.
